Suspect shoots at deputy constables during high-speed chase on Highway 249, crashes into innocent driver:


A suspect is in custody after shooting at Precinct 4 deputy constables during a high-speed chase in north Harris County Friday, authorities said.

As per AVDuke New, It happened around 2:25 a.m. when authorities said a Precinct 4 sergeant attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle near 12600 Jones Rd. Investigators said the vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued, reaching speeds of excess of 100 mph.

Pct. 4 said the suspect fired around three shots while attempting to get onto Highway 249 from Grant Road. No one was hit by the gunfire, investigators said. Constable deputies reportedly backed off the suspect and a Department of Public Safety Air Unit witnessed the suspect’s vehicle crash into another vehicle at Highway 249 and Antoine Drive. The suspect’s vehicle flipped onto its roof from the impact of the crash, Pct. 4 said.

Witnesses said they saw the suspect get out with a pistol and run away. With the assistance of a K-9 and the DPS Air Unit, the suspect was located nearby in the woods, investigators said. The K-9 made contact with the suspect and he was reportedly treated for his injuries and taken into custody.

Authorities said the K-9 located the weapon used to shoot at the deputy constables in a nearby ditch.

The occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash sustained minor injuries, Pct. 4 said.

An investigation is ongoing.
